On September 18th, we held our Annual General Meeting (AGM). Our guest
speaker, Chief Executive Tracey Wakefield, reflected on her four years at RJSOC
and shared her vision for the future. She emphasized the importance of making the
organization more agile to better respond to the community’s needs and to enhance
RJSOC’s influence as leaders in restorative practice. Tracey also expressed her
heartfelt gratitude to our board members, staff, facilitators, and volunteers for their
hard work over the past four years, as well as for the beautiful bouquet
that brightened her home for over a week.
In November, we will host a training hui for South Island-based Restorative Justice
practitioners, scheduled for November 27th to 29th. The sessions on Wednesday
and Friday will be exclusively for RJ practitioners. However, on Thursday, we will
offer sessions on Methamphetamine and Co-existing Issues, De-escalation, and
Motivational Interviewing, led by Pete Thorburn from MESS NZ. These Thursday
sessions will be open to anyone working in aligned services.
Visit Humanatix for more information and to register.
Note: The ticket price for those outside the Restorative Justice sector is $150.
